Recommended Calligraphy Sets for Adults

Ink
“Japanese-Made 5-Star Safflower Ink 1.5 Sticks” This ink is made using extremely fine soot particles, making it suitable not only for calligraphy but also for sutra transcription! It’s a handy tool to have in your collection.
Inkstone
“Kakujo Shihira” This inkstone is produced in Ogatsu, one of Japan’s leading inkstone manufacturing regions. Its smooth texture and craftsmanship make it a perfect inkstone for adult calligraphy, slightly different from what you might have used as a student. We also recommend the standard size, Shigohei (available for 1,875 yen).
Felt Underlay for Hanshi Paper
The felt underlay adds a sense of luxury and volume. If you apply strong brush pressure, we recommend the larger size. This felt underlay is designed for Hanshi paper and has a thickness of 2mm.
Paperweight for Bunchin Nickel Silver (Medium)
For four-character compositions on Hanshi paper, we recommend the medium-sized paperweight. 
Brush Stand
